Abstract:
Humans are social beings. Therefore, communication and teamwork have always been the main tools for finding solutions. Means of communication and challenges related to their application have been thoroughly studied. However, contemporary world of technology constantly offers innovative tools leaving humans puzzled about the choice of the most effective ones for finding solutions to everyday challenges. The aim of the present workshop is to study the ways of solving problems and finding information in contemporary world. The research methods include an empirical case study where participants are asked to solve an actual specific task. Furthermore, they have to complete a short survey and reflect about the methods they used to solve the task as well as the reasons for their choice. The results of the survey are analysed in the framework of the workshop statistically and discursively and preliminary conclusions are drawn. The whole process is video-recorded to provide the researchers with the actual materials for further discourse and communication analysis. Based on the workshop results, preliminary recommendations on the methods of learning, finding information and solutions are discussed with the participants.
